Veronica Hernadez, Assistant Principal

Veronica Hernandez is ecstatic about being part of the amazing Worsham team!  She is coming to us from the Humble Independent School District.  Mrs. Hernandez is originally from the Rio Grande Valley and graduated from the University of Texas-Pan American in Edinburg, Texas with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration.  After graduating, she transferred to the city of Houston to continue her career in retail management.

After five years of working in the “retail world”, she realized that she wanted to make a real difference in our world.  It was then she decided to pursue her lifelong dream of being an Educator and help to transform children’s lives.  She started her career in education in 2006, when she was given an opportunity to work as Kindergarten aide.  During which, she received her alternative certification at Lone Star College in Kingwood.  Mrs. Hernandez worked as a Bilingual Kindergarten, third and fifth grade teacher at River Pines Elementary.  As a classroom teacher and team leader, she exuded a love for learning, a commitment to building positive relationships with parents and students and high standards for academic achievement.  After many successful years in the classroom, she decided that she wanted to pursue her Master’s degree in Educational Leadership and did so.  In 2015, she accomplished that goal and graduated from Concordia University of Austin.

Today, Mrs. Hernandez serves as an Assistant Principal and truly believes that education begins with a passion and must focus on educating the whole child.  She believes that it is up to us as educators, to inspire a desire for learning and provide an environment that nurtures curiosity, inquiry, creativity and imagination.

Jennifer Brown, Counselor

My name is Ms. Brown. I am the counselor at Worsham Elementary. I have been at Worsham Elementary for thirteen years! Following my student teaching with Aldine, I graduated from Iowa State University in 1998 with a BS in Elementary Education and Early Childhood Education/Unified with a specialization in Spanish. I was hired at Worsham and taught Special Education/Resource for four years and Kindergarten one and a half years before attaining my Masters of Arts in Counseling from Prairie View A&M University. I stepped in to the counseling position in March 2004. As the counselor I interact with all the students, teachers, staff, and community. I facilitate many activities on campus, such as C.H.I.C.K.E.N. Club events, SNAPP, and GT/ACC Programs, to name a few. Our morning announcements focus on social skills and I hope to make a positive influence through appropriate modeling of the social behavior as well as through classroom guidance lessons. I look forward to getting to know everyone as we navigate our way through this school year!
